In partnership with Meta and BBDO, we created one of the standout moments in gaming history for the launch of MetaQuest VR game ‘Asgard’s Wrath 2’, taking place outside The Game Awards 2023.
Meta was clear that they didn't want a "hologram" or anything similar. They wanted something visibly impossible, where neither the on-the-ground audience nor audiences watching UGC or broadcast capture of the activation would be able to see how it was done. And we're proud to have delivered: online conspiracies immediately sprung up around the activation.
By seamlessly blending technology with creative storytelling, we engineered a collective experience for thousands of people that is yet unmatched.
This collaboration pushed and rewrote the limits of what is possible in OOH, and the incredible worldwide response to this is the best demonstration yet of our core principles: by creating something that looks exceptional on the ground as well as for iPhone and broadcast camera, one can go so far beyond a "fake" stunt. In the hundreds of user-generated videos, it is the sense of the viewers' awe, as much as the beauty of the 65-foot portal, that creates an impact.
In technical terms, we are very proud of having unified VFX content with lighting, sound and staging to create something that felt in every respect plausible, with VFX content interacting with on the ground lighting, and sound feeling like it came from the mouths of the characters in the sky.
