We are a leading hologram company creating holographic experiences for clients around the world.
kaleida is a multimedia hologram company with a full range of production expertise. Our team combines specialisations in holographic technology, lighting, stage design, projection, sound and vfx to create stunning installations and experiences.
We create amazing live experiences.
As Real As Real Life
In 1896, the Lumiere Brothers provoked panic by showing a film of a train travelling towards its audience. Cinema was new then and the experience was magical and terrifying. Today audiences no longer respond to 2D in the same way. Our holographic technology not only presents a 3D image, it allows us to create content that appears completely real can be placed anywhere.
No Glasses Required
Kaleida pushes the limits of experience to provide encounters that allow the audience to engage and interact with the physical space without the confinements of virtual reality. Rather than transposing the individual through the use of headsets, kaleida brings the audience together to experience enhanced reality from exactly where they stand.
We are the leading experts in filming for holograms and content creation
Filming People As Holograms
Filming performers for holograms, though using the same hardware employed by regular filmmakers, demands a very different approaches to lighting, perspective and postproduction. It is an art, and requires years of practice to master. Most hologram companies are rooted in technology, which is why the results are so often subpar, with holograms that feel dull, transparent or flat. We are rooted in art, and were founded to create next level visually arresting images. This applies to everything we do. This is why live entertainment companies, blue chip corporates and national governments trust us when they want to bring someone to life as a hologram.
VFX And Content Creation
The same principles apply to holograms created using 3D visual effects. Our VFX artists have worked on major Hollywood productions but have also studied the different techniques needed to create a great hologram rather than just a great visual effects object. Even at the smallest scale the difference between bad and a great 3D hologram logo is stark. This is why even major companies with hundreds of visual effects staff have us consult on their content creation.
We produce jaw dropping and never before seen holographic, interactive and other visual experiences.
Holograms are great for generating social media shares or news coverage. Many holograms that you see online or in the press are created for sharing on social media rather than for the live experience - what you see online is not what you would see if you were there.
This is a highly cost effective media strategy, and saves one from having to worry about hiding the staging of the hologram, since all that matters is image or video that is created of it. In turn, this also allows swifter setup and takedown of the hologram.
Last year, our award winning campaign for WWF saw a holographic elephant appear across London, framed by iconic locations. NBC, CNN and the BBC were among major stations to cover the travelling activation.
Interactive holograms can either be responsive or generated. A responsive hologram uses a motion tracker, accelerometer or other tool to perform a particular gesture based on the gestures performed by the user in front of it.
A generated interactive hologram takes data - whether text input, or multiple choice answers supplied via an IPad, and runs the information through a real-time generator to produce the hologram.
In all cases, we would use a gaming engine (typically UnReal ) in order to take the information provided (whether text, physical motion, image or other) and process it in order to deliver the hologram image desired.
